The Laird (Amilone The Laird to Hareswith) joined us in September 2008 from the Amilone kennel in England.
He is turning out to be a very lovely boy having the typical Golden Retriever temperament, soft and gentle with a keen intelligence.
He takes everything in his stride, he is just interested in everything and everybody without being too pushy.
One of his favourite games is bouncing a tennis ball and then pouncing on it picking it up and throwing it again.
He also likes watching television especially the programs with dogs in or wild life ones.
The Laird has been doing very well at shows gaining Trés Prometteurs in classe puppy and then going into classe jeune getting Excellents and Best Jeune and Best Jeune in group.
At the Championnat de France in Paris, he delighted me by getting 2nd Excellent in classe jeune.
The Laird is a very keen worker and loves to retrieve the dummies he also has a good nose to seek them out of the hedgerow and long grass. Swimming is something he has not yet done, preferring to stay in the shallow water. Hopefully, when he sees the others enjoying themselves in the water he will join in too.
The judge Glennis Hewitson said about him
“Very promising young dog of a good size. Balanced throughout, excellent neck and shoulders, well developed head with good expression. Moved with a very steady action”
The 14th July 2009 was a momentous day for me and The Laird. First he won his class then Best Jeune in Breed, going on to win Best of Breed. After that he won Best Jeune in Show and also finished up winning the 8th Group for adults.
The following day we received his hip and elbow results.
A/A hips and 0/0 elbows.
The day after he swam for the first time, so I entered him to take his TAN on the Sunday and he passed with flying colours! The Laird has now passed épreuve A and B.
The Laird is now a proven stud dog and is available to approved bitches. He passes on his good looks and his excellent temperament to his puppies.
